For eleven years David has been principal of his firm, working out of Boston and Nantucket. For nine years prior to establishing DBLA, David worked with other firms on mixed-use development projects, regional high schools, assisted living facilities, primary and second homes for individual families, garden cemeteries, roadway improvements, public parks, and streetscape design in Boston, Seattle and Paris.

David has completed over 150 varied projects, ranging from simple terracing and creation of intimate spaces, to Master Planning and implementation of complex improvements for entire properties. David works closely with property owners, allied professionals, building and site contractors, and other team members to fully integrate the many technical and aesthetic details that contribute to an individual project's success. David ’s background in project management and years of work and travel allow him to develop unique, beautiful, and highly functional settings.

David oversees projects from Program Development through Construction Management, ensuring effective project team composition and interaction. His direct involvement in projects from initial conception through final construction creates cost savings and higher quality results. Hallmarks of David’s approach to professional service include sustainable design, close client support, technical expertise, new and unique interpretations of space and form, close attention to detail and materials, and rendering beautiful places from existing spaces.
